Palazzo Leoni Montanari

Intesa Sanpaolo

The history of Palazzo Leoni Montanari begins just after the mid-1670s, when Giovanni Leoni Montanari, capable grandson of Bernardino Leoni Montanari, who secured the family’s fortunes by producing and trading fabrics, had the prestigious building built to replace the Montanaris’ previous residences. Building work continued for several decades, resulting in a sumptuous Baroque palace that stands out for its vibrant decorations: a magnificent combination of stuccowork, frescoes and sculptures inspired by the poetry of wonder.
