Passo a due. Roberto Bolle | Giovanni Gastel

From 3 September to 7 November 2021, Gallerie d’Italia – Piazza Scala will be hosting the Passo a due. Roberto Bolle | Giovanni Gastel exhibition, an intense look at the career of the most iconic ballet dancer of our times, as seen through the lens of a great photographer.

Housed in the museum’s octagonal courtyard, the exhibit features a selection of photographic portraits of Roberto Bolle taken over the years by Giovanni Gastel: two seemingly diverse personalities who have made Art their profession and very raison d’être. With its unique choreography, this imaginary “pas de deux” exults Art in all its manifestations.
On one hand, dance; on the other, photography. The two worlds observe each other, respect each other and merge, inspiring emotions with their enthralling search for harmony and perfection. Giovanni Gastel immortalises the art of Terpsichore, making us reflect and, through the two artists’ friendship, appreciate its dizzying heights.
Gallerie d’Italia, Milan, home to the Muses, is the perfect backdrop for a tribute to such a special personal and artistic encounter.
